Solution

Introduction

The Committee on Examinations has given a scope for reassessment of personal academic progress. The current discussion will consider issues that have been faced during the learning sessions. There will be an examination of opportunities that have not been adequately leveraged during the learning sessions. In addition, frameworks and theories will be used to understand and mitigate the challenges faced during the learning sessions.

Identification of Issues

I desire to become a leader in my future career, so I have enrolled in the course concerned. However, I have been unable to secure adequate marks in the examination. This has hampered my academic progress considerably.

Dilemma While Making a Decision

The primary issue that I have faced in classroom learning is dilemmas while making decisions. The issue of decision-making has hampered authentic values. The decision-making process is an important element in leadership (Cortellazzo, Bruni & Zampieri, 2019). The decision-making promotes transparency and understanding in team management. Nevertheless, the confusion while making appropriate decisions has hampered my scores. The class lectures consist of case studies related to leadership management. The case studies focussed on leadership tactics and ways to manage team performance. The concerned case studies have been quite complex for my analysis. I could not properly understand the nuances mentioned in the case studies. I took maximum time in making decisions regarding the questions that have been put at the end of the case studies. This has made me slow in making responses to my instructor in time.

The authentic value of self-awareness is highly required while making decisions. Self-awareness is required in leadership as it assists in the comprehension of cognitive biases (Daft & Pirola-Merlo, 2009). These prejudices need to be eliminated for understanding the feelings, experiences and needs of the team members. However, I believe personal self-awareness can be further improved. I need to undertake continuous self-reflection for the assessment of personal limitations and potentialities. Self-introspection needs to be enhanced to make the right decisions for answering the questions set after the case studies. The self-evaluation could have made it less dependent on the theoretical answers. Instead, I can use my present knowledge and expertise in answering the questions. Nevertheless, I have to gain adequate knowledge of leadership and establish networking for my leadership career to be successful. The industry knowledge will highlight the trends and patterns that are followed in leadership in an industry. Similarly, industry cognizance will enhance awareness about recent innovations such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and CRM (management of customer relationships).

The concerns regarding the lack of decision-making have been related to the authentic values of problem-solving. Problem-solving is essential for the guidance of team members in an organisation (Daft & Lane, 2018). I failed to act properly on my problem-solving skills. The solving of problems has been an essential part of leadership courses. It requires suggestions and solutions that are innovative and unique. The grades are awarded to the students based on the intensity and value of the solutions. The absence of solutions caused my results to be poor in the last examination.

Unclear Goal

The issue of not having a proper goal has negatively impacted personal motivation. Enrolment in the course requires setting clear targets for the achievement of proper academic results. I lacked clear targets and thereby could not complete my learning within time. The absence of clear goals resulted from a lack of aim both at the personal and academic levels. This has caused a discrepancy between my expectations and my actions. The identification of goals requires continuous reflection on knowledge, skills and expertise (Cortellazzo, Bruni & Zampieri, 2019). The reflection has to be supported by future actions that can strengthen academic careers. The instructor has provided the course curriculum and the expected time for completion of these curriculums. However, I have not given proper attention to this curriculum and the modules. I have kept aside the class notes provided by my instructor for a long time. Instead, I devoted my time to irrelevant activities.

During the examination, I sat down with the lecture notes. I could not correctly decipher the substance of these notes and thereby appeared for the examination with poor academic preparation. This has made my grades to be considerably low, hampering my academic career. The absence of objectives has made me remain highly demotivated during my academic career. The lack of goal has fostered a sense of irrelevance regarding my studies. I was unable to connect with the purpose of the studies and its relation to my career. I focused on maximising my time and making myself unfavourable compared with my academic peers. This comparison has constantly distracted me from my personal development. The unhealthy comparison has an adverse impact on motivation (Yi & Zulaikha, 2022). I have found that my peers have scored much better in the course. This has marred my enthusiasm and morale for focusing attentively on my academic career. I have recognised that I remained overcommitted to extracurricular pursuits. The primary reason behind this is that I have maintained appropriate goals in these forms of pursuits. The rise in commitment to these activities has reduced my interest in academic studies. At the end of the day, when I sat with my academic studies, I felt unmotivated to study. There has been a lack of concentration that affected my grades. Subsequently, I have personal issues, such as health concerns, that have impacted my motivation. The paucity of good health has made me less concentrated and has been a detrimental factor in my academic career. I consider that these issues need to be mitigated to make my academic progress better for MBA assignment expert.

Opportunities

The course is highly prospective for a student willing to proceed with leadership in future. Nevertheless, my issues, such as dilemmas while making decisions and the absence of clear goals, have hindered my progress. The leadership course is sufficient for the creation of preliminary ground for a leader.

Networking opportunities

Dynamic leadership can enhance the chance of networking with scholars and professors. Simultaneously, dynamic leadership offers collaboration with industry experts. The collaboration can have a prospective impact on the leadership career of a student. The knowledge gained through industry experts can help mitigate issues related to decision-making. I can easily make appropriate decisions regarding my learnings and can easily comprehend case studies. This can be possible by undertaking practical lessons from academic experts in the field of leadership. Proper decision-making acts as a potential instrument for team management (Pandey & Kumar, 2021). Decision-making is required for the accomplishment of individual and collective goals in a sector. The promotion of decision-making can enhance the authentic value of self-reflection. The self-reflection can allow introspection that is developed on practical knowledge. Actual cognizance plays a vital role in answering questions related to the analysis of case studies rather than the incorporation of simply theoretical knowledge.

Goal Setting Opportunities

Dynamic leadership can allow the mitigation of issues related to motivation. Leadership is synonymous with motivation that will enhance team performance. My issues of motivation can easily address my understanding of the role of leaders in setting objectives. Leadership functions with the help of the accomplishment of goals within time (Ningrum et al., 2022). The course will assist me in deciding on goals that will allow me to score higher in my academics. Additionally, understanding the course will make me highly self-reliant and motivated as I can easily connect with my academic career and personal development.

Recommendations

Recommendations for improvement of my academic learning based on framework and theory are enumerated below:

â—Ź The model of dynamic understanding can be applied to understanding the issue of decision-making. The concerned model focuses on understanding the areas where an individual performance can be improved (Camacho Jr et al., 2021).

Figure 1: Interrelation among elements of Dynamic Thinking
Source: (Cohen & Bradford, 2017)

The major aspects of the model of dynamic thinking can be seen from the above figure. The major aspects are interrelated and influence each other. The model states that individuals have capabilities to regain understanding that can help them both in personal and professional domains. The process of decision-making, along with strategic thinking, is crucial for adaptability (Webber, O’Neill & Dossinger, 2020). Adaptability will enable me to encounter challenges while reading different types of case studies and analysing them. I will learn to interact with my peers and academic instructors properly. The interactions with the peers will be conducted on grounds of collaboration and healthy competition. This will enable me to focus on personal development and growth without facing any complications.

â—Ź Herzberg's theory of motivation can be used to understand the issue of the lack of clear goals. The concerned theory focuses on the extrinsic and intrinsic factors of an individual.

Figure 2: Two Factors in Herzberg’s Theory
Source: (MacPherson, 2021)

It can be derived from the above figure that two factors are motivators and factors of hygiene. I consider that I can set practical goals when I am intrinsically motivated. It can occur when I find a purpose in academic learning about leadership. The concerned course has exposed the dynamics of leadership and its varied aspects. A crucial aspect of it is the enhancement of motivation and engagement of the workforce (Peramatzis & Galanakis, 2022). The leaders play an active part in making the employees highly motivated by setting goals and objectives. At the same time, the leaders provide them with feedback to make their work proceedings run smoothly. A similar situation can be fostered in my journey when I set goals and targets. These will act as an impetus for raising my morale and enhancing my motivation. I consider that extrinsic motivation is not considerably important in my case. It gets adequate academic infrastructure while being enrolled for dynamic leadership. It has enhanced my academic progress extensively. Therefore, my focus will be on the internal motivation for the accomplishment of goals within time.

Conclusion

It can be summarised from the above discussion that the two challenges are a lack of clear goals and ineffective decision-making. The absence of a clear goal has an adverse impact on motivation. Conversely, improper decision-making has negatively impacted my authenticity. Opportunities for networking and goal setting have been provided by learning about dynamic leadership from the course. The theory of Herzberg and the model of dynamic thinking can be further applied to the mitigation of my present challenges and taking advantage of learning avenues.
