The specific questions students need to answer include:

(1) Which of the UNSDGs does the news article relate to?
(2) Who are the important stakeholders?
(3) What potential marketing issues can be identified from the article?
(4) How would you respond to these issues and why?

Students are required to include a minimum of 5 references to support their answers to these questions. Referencing should follow the APA style. This is an individual assessment with a maximum of 1000 words. Please note that only references used in text should be included in your reference list.

Any assessment with a 'Turnitin' score of more than 25% will be checked by the marker for potential plagiarism issues although it may not necessarily mean that you have plagiarised. Introduction

This article analysis focuses on identifying the sustainable goal related to the news article. It will also assist in the correct identification of stakeholders and issues related to marketing. The new article selected for the analysis is “Australian companies failing to prevent links to modern slavery, human rights groups warn”.

UNSDGs Related To The News Article

The United Nations' sustainable development goal identified in the article is SDGs 8, that is promoting sustainable economic growth and decent work.  The SDGs 8 is ensuring healthy lives and promotes well-being for all ages. According to the MBA Assignment Expert, This article highlights that despite the challenging covid situations, workers like Hasan and others were forced to perform a 14-hour shift and were only allowed to visit the doctor when they promised to complete their shift after coming back. Hasan also highlighted that if they refuse to work so hard, they will be deported back to their home country, and the owners also treat them very badly. Hasan cannot reveal his last name as it might impact his employment, and he may lose it because of his statements in the media (Schroeder, Anggraeni, & Weber, 2019). When Hasan and his colleagues were ill, their bosses came to their rooms and brought them to workstations. These aspects made life hectic and impacted their health, and did not at all promote their well-being (Belot, 2022).

It also promotes sustained, inclusive and sustainable growth economically, along with productive and full employment and decent work for everyone. Kate, a migrant worker in Australia, works as a farm labourer and picks oranges; she gets only 25$ per day against her 12-hour shift at the fruit farm. She is too scared to quit her job linked with her employment. Her dignity is also challenged in the workplace as the owner sexually harasses her (Blustein et al., 2019). This is against SDGs 8 and she is left with no options as she cannot quit the job because she needs money to pay rent.

It is vital for the government and the UN to consider these situations and make some strict laws to better migrant conditions and pull them out of this crisis (sdgs.un.org, 2022).

Important Stakeholders

There are different important stakeholders. The first and foremost stakeholder is the human rights group, urging the federal government (which is the second most important stakeholder) to take a tougher stance against this crisis. They are trying to mitigate these issues, and Ms Dinshaw, another involved stakeholder, presents the case. Ms Dinshaw researched the companies and found that less than a third of Australian companies take measures to mitigate these risks. Other important stakeholders include the migrants like Kate and Hasan, who are struggling with this crisis. All these stakeholders are important in this situation, and they need to work collaboratively to end or mitigate this crisis. Human rights activists like Ms Dinshaw are doing a splendid job, and their associated organizations are bringing this issue to the federal government (Campbell, 2019). Migrants like Kate and Hasan need to come out anonymously, and their identity must be protected to understand their concern and address it without exposing them to any serious threats or risks.

Potential Marketing Issues Identified in The Article

Different potential marketing issues can be identified in the article. This article highlights the violation of human rights, and this makes the employees feel dissatisfied, and hence they will stop giving their hundred per cent at work which will ultimately decrease the quality of services and products received. The article suggests how the owner at the farm used to harass Kate; this instance tells so much about the work culture on these farms and how the employees are subjected to harassment over there. An unhealthy work culture destroys the organization, whether small, medium, or larger.

Usually, the organizations that burden their employees with excessive work and only want to pull out the maximum from the employees have no clear marketing perspectives and goals; they are so focused on their employee's working time that they forget to think about quality. When organizations put exceeding pressure on the employee output in terms of quantity, they often lack quality which has side effects (Rai, Brown, & Ruwanpura, 2019). Marketing is based on a word-of-mouth system, and even though employees are afraid to openly tell everything about the organization on media, they will never shy away from highlighting the original aspects.  In-person they discuss it with other employees working in a different organization which creates a bad image.

Responding To These Issues with Reasons

First of all, it is important to focus on the health and well-being of the employees as it is a positive sign for the organization also in terms of productivity; by doing this organization can solve a third of its marketing problem. Secondly, organizations need to follow the guidelines passed by the federal government regarding the work culture, ethics, and environment.

The organizational leaders should address the issues of humanitarian crisis prevalent in the organization before interfering with self-help groups, human rights organizations, or activists. This will create confidence among the employees and make them loyal to the organization (Campbell et al., 2019). The world starts to believe that this organization helped them in time of need and the organization itself is not responsible for any of the issues they face.

Secondly, it is important to follow the work guidelines and time off work to create a better impression, and employees themselves will promote the organization when they go out. This creates a positive image of the organization. The organization needs to ensure the implementation of these steps in the organization as it will solve the associated marketing issues.

Conclusion

The above analysis clearly identifies SDG 8 as the sustainable goal related to the article as it involves modern slavery in Australian firms. It has pointed out the issues which destroy organizations because human resources are not respected and ultimately their performance decreases. Lastly, the recommendation to tackle the issues is given for ensuring sustainability in the workplace.
