Context:

In today’s workplaces, collaborative team-work is expected. Diversity in teams is a reality ,
but can lead to conflict and tensions, due to lack of intercultural intelligence, dominant personalities, or poor decisions due to passivity of members who may succumb to group- think (Janis, 1972), or who may be biased and have multiple blind spots. Your understanding and experience of these issues are vitally important to your overall business knowledge.

This assessment has been designed to:

▪ Apply decision-making systems and techniques in a group

▪ Interrogate and interpret a range of data analytics pertinent to a relevant contemporary  organisational challenge, decision or change of strategy.

▪ Apply and evaluate those systems and techniques to support effective decision- making in organisations.

▪ Engage as a team to present your findings in a visual, oral and written format that critically evaluates the decision making process in a contemporary organization.

▪ Form your arguments through the use of contemporary literature associated with decision making theories and concepts as presented in Modules 1 to 4.

▪ Work as a team to identify research a business decision and present a business report.

Part A: MGT602 Assessment 2 guidelines 3000-word report.

This assessment draws on learning activities and resources from Modules 1-4. It is designed for you to analyse a corporate case study and the decision-making process using only theories and concepts from Business Decision analytics. You should consider in researching and preparing your case study report the following:

▪ The problem detailed by your learning facilitator

▪ Background to the case

▪ Collection of relevant internal and external data sources that the organization may have used in the decision-making process

▪ Identification of the key person or persons making the decision

▪ Analysis and influence of individuals and group dynamics impact on the decision- making

▪ Analysis of the decision-making process considering all theories and concepts discussed in Modules 1, 2, 3 and 4.

▪ Visual interpretation and presentation of relevant data / trends/ patterns.

Part C. MGT602 Assessment 2 guidelines peer evaluation:

Each student will submit a self and peer evaluation matrix rating the contribution of each group member in the research and preparation of the group report and presentation. Refer Appendix A. To successfully complete this Part C of the assessment, each group should prepare and maintain a project plan, records of meetings, actions (who/what/how/when) which is updated weekly. Each student’s peer evaluation will include individual ratings and a 200-word analysis of the collective group’s decision-making processes. Each student’s peer evaluation must be included in the Appendix of the report.

Analysis and evaluation of the contingent model of decision making 

Recognition of ethical Issue

In the year of 2021, Australia has faced huge impacts of Covid-19. This situation negatively impacts on increasing the panic and frustration level of the general public and pharmacy owners. Rapid Antigen Test kits were not available from pharmacies. According to The MBA Assignment Expert, In that time New South Wales faced around surpassed 6,288 cases on a daily basis (Prasad & Junni, 2017). Demand for PCR tests negatively impacts on the supply chain management activities of the pharmacy companies. The organizations were not able to deliver the quality and available services to their customers. All the factors negatively impact the supply champion management procedures of the pharmacy companies.  According to Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, tests can cost over $70 through service stations, convenience stores and independent supermarkets.  This can buckle the supply chain in Australia if the rapid antigen tests were not free and easily accessible as nearly 50% of employees of the pharmacy companies are unable to work due to limited access (Naidoo & Strecker, 2018). The employee turnover rate increased in that kind of situation which caused the short number of staff. Lack of employees within the supply chain management department increases the issues in distributing the products to the customers on a daily basis. 

Make Ethical Judgment

To reduce this kind of issue the organizations need to hire skilled and efficient employees. This can positively support the firms to deliver the quality services to the customers in an effective time. The government ensured the customers regarding the huge amount of RAT kits that were coming to Australia. Organizations need to hire the employees for delivering quick services to the customer by considering the specific areas. Identifying the proper locations which are suitable for the employees will help them in maintaining all the Covid protocols and they can easily provide the services to the customers within the effective time (Alexandre et al. 2018). 

Establishment of The Morale Intent and Morale Behaviour

Increasing the transparency between the employees is the most important factor to manage the supply chain related issues within the workplace. Maintaining non-discriminatory treatment is essential in reducing the supply chain problems. 

Developing Group Dynamics To Reduce The Issues 

Increasing the ethical behavior and morale within the employees will be helped in reducing the logistics and supply champion related issues within the companies. In this way, they can easily deliver RAT kits to the customers (Kolbe & Bossink, 2020). Through providing training within the time of pandemic can help them to reduce the supply chain problems in an effective way.

Personal Reflection

According to me, the local people of Australia have faced a huge issue in the time of Covid-19 regarding the RAT kits.  Through the help of the project I have identified that maintaining proper team management is the most important factor that can easily enhance more changes for the organizations. According to me, Contingent theory is the most important theory which helped in managing the decision making approaches in group performances. I think, this theory helped in organizing he a group and lead them towards making an effective decision. Delivering the quality projects through the help of the group performances can help to increase the engagement between the team members. I think managing proper decisions is the most important factor while delivering the quality report. This will be helped in mitigating different types of issues within the group performances. Managing proper behavior with each other within the team is the most essential factor that can easily enhance more opportunities for the team members. According to me, Lack of engagement between the team members can negatively impact on providing nudge reports and this also impacts the quality of the report as well. With the help of effective contingent theory the team members can identify the issues of making proper decisions. This will helped in mitigating the lack of understanding related issues within group performance.
